Sunil Gavaskar gives IK credits for his success:
MUMBAI: Imran Khan is all set to rock his new PM of Pakistan seats with his swag and leadership. Everyone around the globe can relate to this present politician and an amazing cricketer by heart.
His old colleage Sunil Gavaskar, a former Indian cricketer, feels nostalgic as he remembered his great time with IK. On Saturday, he said that IK gave him a ‘challenge’ that made him extend his plans to retire.
In Times of India, the former Indian batsman recalls his lunch with IK in London in 1986. Gavaskar wanted to retire at the end of India’s tour of England.
“‘You can’t retire now. Pakistan is coming to India next year and I want to beat India in India. If you aren’t part of that team, it won’t be the same. Come on, let’s have one last tilt against each other,’ Imran Khan, PM said these challenging words which stopped Gavaskar from retiring.
